Tiantian Xu

Tiantian Xu is a PhD candidate at the Computer Science and Engineering department of NYU School of Engineering. Her research interest is in medical image processing and video surveillance. Her advisor is Prof. Edward Wong. Her research projects include mitral valve leaflet segmentation and modeling of 3D ultrasound videos, and action recognition from videos. She had worked as a research intern at SONY R&D, and is now working as a research assistant at AIG Science team in New York. She enjoys reading, yoga and is learning to play guitar.

Jing Zhu received her Master’s degree in Computer Science from Polytechnic School of Engineering, New York University. During her master years, she has been a teaching assistant for algorithm course and a graduate assistant of Prof. Eward K. Wong. Currently she is a Phd Candidate of Computer Science and Engineering under supervision of Prof. Yi Fang in NYU Multimedia and Visual Computing Lab. Fan Zhu

Dr. Zhu received the MSc degree with distinction in Electrical Engineering and the Ph.D. degree at the Visual Information Engineering group from the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, the University of Sheffield, Sheffield, U.K, in 2011 and 2015 respectively. He is currently a post-doctoral associate under supervision of Prof. Yi Fang in the NYU Multimedia and Visual Computing Lab. His research interests include submodular optimization for computer vision, sparse coding, 3D feature learning, dictionary learning and transfer learning. He has authored/co-authored over 10 papers in well-known journals/conferences such as IJCV, IEEE TNNLS, CVPR, CIKM and BMVC, and two China patents. He has been awarded the National Distinguished Overseas Self-funded Student of China prize in 2014. He serves as a reviewer of IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics.

Jin Xie

Dr. Xie received the Ph.D degree from Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University with research on texton learning based on texture classification. Currently he is a postdoctoral associate at New York University Abu Dhabi under supervision of Prof. Yi Fang. His research interests include image processing, image forensics, computer vision and machine learning. Currently he is focusing on 3D shape analysis using start-of-the-art deep learning method.

George Korres

I was born and raised in Athens, Greece. I studied Applied Mathematics in the School of Science & Engineering at the University of Crete. I was involved for several years with the development of educational software and hardware regarding educational robotics. The last three years I have also dealt with industrial automation (mainly in the field of recycling industry). My research interests focus on development of new sensors and actuators as well as the use of these in human computer interaction.
